Due to COVID restrictions and closures, interlibrary loan requests may take longer than usual to fulfill. We apologize for the inconvenience.

  • Interlibrary Loan allows patrons to request titles that aren’t available in the Minuteman Library Network or the Commonwealth Catalog. We reach out to a national network of libraries to see if we can find a copy you can borrow.

    Rules

Some materials cannot be borrowed through ILL, including but not limited to:
    • Anything published in the past 12 months
    • Video games
    • Textbooks
    • Archival materials
    • Items with questionable copyright status

Please limit your transactions to 5 at any time (including requests and checked out materials).

Items must be returned to one of the three Public Library of Brookline locations (Brookline Village, Coolidge Corner, or Putterham), with all paperwork still attached. Materials returned elsewhere will incur a $4 fine, and materials returned without paperwork will also incur a $4 fine.

The lending library determines the due date; requests for renewals must be made at least 7 business days in advance. Renewals are not guaranteed, and items will incur late fees until a new due date is issued.

You are responsible for any fees for damaged or lost materials.
