4 x 4 Poetry Reading: New and Recent Collections

Four poets will read four pieces from their new and recent poetry collections. Featuring Deborah Leipziger (Story & Bone), Jacob Strautmann (New Vrindaban), Jason Tandon (This Far North), and Leslie Williams (Matters for You Alone), followed by a brief Q & A.

Hosted by Brookline poet laureate Jennifer Barber.

Deborah Leipziger is an author, poet, and advisor in sustainability. Her latest book, Story & Bone, was published by Lily Poetry Review Books in 2023.

Jacob Strautmann is a recipient of the Massachusetts Poetry Fellowship from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. His poems have appeared in Nixes MateSequestrumAsimov’s Science FictionOn the Seawall, and elsewhere. He lives in Greater Boston with his partner Valerie Duff and their two children. New Vrindaban, recently published by Four Way Books, is his second book of poems.

Jason Tandon is the author of five books of poetry, including This Far North (Black Lawrence Press, 2023), longlisted for the 2024 Massachusetts Book Awards, and The Actual World (Black Lawrence Press, 2019). His poems have appeared in many journals, including PloughsharesPrairie SchoonerThe Southern ReviewNorth American Review, and Alaska Quarterly Review. He teaches at Boston University, where he is a master lecturer in the Arts & Sciences Writing Program.

 Leslie Williams is the author of three poetry collections and the recipient of the Robert Winner Memorial Award from the Poetry Society of America. She lives in Newton, MA.
